Rock up and Ride
Almost every Saturday between the holt days there is a ride from Forest Inn, Ferndown. Simply rock up by 9:30 and enjoy a ride around our area. You can be sure of a cafe stop before ending about lunch time at well known local locations.
Who can attend? This ride is for members & associates who are cleared for group rides (or any associate if accompanied by your observer). The ride will be both led and tailed by trained observers and therefore is classified as an ‘all members group ride’ in the IAM Guidelines.
Note: no RUaR on 26/04, 03/05, 26/07 or 13/09 due to other club events.

Long Club Rides
Long Rides are typically more riding and less stops! Usually incorporating two or more refreshment stops and planned for most of the day. Rides will tend to cover much more distance, visiting a wide variety of places all over the county and beyond.
Who can attend? Full members only (unless otherwise advertised). This is classified as a Social Ride Out #2 in the IAM Guidelines.
-
Short Rides
Usually 100-150 miles maximum with one scheduled refreshment stop.
Who can attend? Full members only, however some will be advertised to include associates cleared for group rides. If associates are included, these rides will be led and tailed by a trained observer.
-
Midweek/Evening Rides
Usually held on Wednesdays there is a mix of morning and evening rides to accommodate the retirees/shift workers amongst us.
Who can attend? Full members and dependent on the route/duration the ride may/may not be open to Associates cleared for group rides. Check the events page & regular emails for confirmation.
-
Associate Rides
For those yet to pass their Advanced Test we offer regular Associate Only rides. There will be a good ratio of Observers to Associates who can offer advice and answer questions.
It’s a great opportunity to practise, get used to group riding and meet other club members.
Who can attend? Associates only. These rides are specifically for associates. Sufficient observers will join the ride (as per IAM guidelines).
